How am I matched to a Consultant?
Consultants are matched to new Certification Track participants based on shared interests and specialties, as well as geographic location and availability. The Gottman Institute does our best to match you with a Consultant who fits the details included in your Certification Track application. We cannot guarantee that you will receive your requested Consultant.
What is the fee structure for working with a Consultant?
Certification Track participants are required to reimburse their Consultant for the consultation sessions you attend. These prices and fees are a discussion between you and your Consultant. There are a minimum number of 8 consultation sessions required, but this is in fact a minimum rather than the norm. On average, Certification Track participants will need 15 or more consultation sessions before their first video review submission.
How to be prepared for your first session with your Consultant
We highly recommend that you have at least one video of you working with a couple on a Gottman Method intervention prepared either before or soon after entering the Certification Track. With this video, your Consultant can see where you are at in your understanding of the Gottman Method and you and your Consultant can start right away with feedback. This is not required, only highly recommended.
